Before begining to read acknowledge our PURPOSE for reading this chapter is to help us determine what is important:
1- What is the author's definition of a HERO WITHIN?
2- What qualities does it takes to be a HERO WITHIN, and/or are exemplified by one? (Please quote the author directly from the book. For example, on p. 5, author T.A. Barron's describes a Survivor Hero as ..." He also goes on to explain, p. 6, "..."
3- After reading the chapter - return to the quote at the beginning of the chapter by Nelson Mandela - What is he trying to say?...in your own words...
4- Think of someone, from real life or fiction, you consider a to be a HERO WITHIN. Write a well-developed paragraph that explains what did that person do to make her or him a hero in your eyes. Include the character traits that were exhibited by this person.
